Welcome to the A.E.R.O. Special Education Cooperative Website

On behalf of the A.E.R.O. administrative team and the A.E.R.O. member districts, I would like to welcome and introduce you to the A.E.R.O. Special Education Cooperative website. A.E.R.O is a low incidence special education cooperative located in Burbank, IL. Since 1963 A.E.R.O. has provided special education programming and an array of related services to students with disabilities residing in the 12 member school districts. The 12 member districts have joined together to maximize their resources and provide a full continuum of special education services.

Some facts about A.E.R.O. -

• Combined K-12 population of member districts: 22,171
• Combined population of students with disabilities: 3,368
• Over 400 students with disabilities served in A.E.R.O. programs
• The "AERO" name is an acronym representing the first letters of the four member high school districts (Argo, Evergreen Park, Reavis, Oak Lawn)
